Diagnostics

At West Morris Dental we care about you, our team, and the environment, so we use digital x-rays and imaging with up to 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays. This protects your family while also minimizing the waste of film paper and exposure to chemicals. Plus, we can review the results together almost immediately while we discuss your options!

Dental Hygiene

Dental hygiene care – or cleanings – are an important part of how you prevent dental issues. A regular cleaning schedule in addition to your homecare routines ensures that your teeth are free of plaque and tartar and that your gums are healthy and fit snugly around your teeth. Your first-visit hygiene appointment will take a little longer than usual while we create baseline measurements of your gum health. Then your hygienist will remove any plaque or tartar and polish your teeth. If your individual needs require a fluoride treatment, it will also be applied.

Checkup

Your first checkup will also take a little longer because this is where you get a chance to speak with the doctor and discuss what you like and dislike about your smile. We also take the time to check your tooth health, including any prior restorations to ensure they are still working properly. We review your x-rays for any potential problems and then the dentist will make treatment recommendations based on these findings and your individual needs and desires for your smile. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you need to, so you can always feel confident that we are working towards the same goals for your oral health and smile.
